1. 3+ years of experience in estimating or related construction/millwork role (co-op or internship experience considered) 2. Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Architectural Technology, or related field 3. Strong analytical and mathematical skills 4. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with estimating software is an asset
Overview:
As a Millwork Estimator Assistant, you will support the estimating team in preparing accurate and competitive project quotes. You’ll work closely with project managers, designers, and clients to analyze plans, specs, and drawings, assisting in the creation of detailed cost estimates for millwork projects. Responsibilities: 1. Assist with quantity take-offs and cost analysis based on CAD drawings and specifications 2. Gather pricing from vendors and subcontractors for materials, labor, and equipment 3. Maintain and update estimating databases and templates 4. Prepare estimate packages and support bid submissions 5. Participate in job walk-throughs and site visits as needed 6. Coordinate with project managers to ensure estimates align with project goals and timelines
